Native cotton, garments without dyeing

Native cotton is, so to speak, the hidden pearl of Peru.

Native cotton is a variety of cotton that grows naturally in a variety of 12 different colors. Yes yes! Imagine this beautiful white cotton fields as we are used to seeing it. Well, imagine green, brown and cream instead of white. That's the magic of native cotton!

This type of cotton was already cultivated more than 5000 years ago. It was, at the time, the most important industrial culture of all.

In the 1940s, following the industrialization of cotton to prioritize the cultivation of white cotton, the cultivation of colored cotton was abolished and the seeds were destroyed. Fortunately, in the 1970s, pioneers saw in native cotton the possibility of creating a prosperous industry. They set up a plan to bring back the cultivation of native cotton and were thus able to restart its cultivation.

In addition to its natural colors, the advantage of native cotton is that the plant having adapted perfectly to its environment for millennia, it does not require the addition of pesticides and other chemicals. It also requires a minimal amount of water.

Thanks to these pioneers who saw the potential of such cotton, we now have access to a natural vegetable fiber that requires no dye seen these rich natural colors.
