The Bateau Bateau 12-piece washable handkerchiefs were designed to make your life easier!
They include a pretty fabric box to store tissues and a matching, reversible basket to dispose of used tissues while waiting for the next wash.
*The shades and pattern placement of the fabric may vary slightly from the photo.
Characteristics of Handkerchiefs
Composition: 70% bamboo viscose and 30% organic cotton. OEKO-TEK-100 certified fabric.
Size: the tissues are the same size as a disposable tissue: 19 x 20.3 cm (7.5” x 8”)
Features: The handkerchiefs are cut simply, without an overlock.
Bateau Bateau System
Blow your nose, put your tissue in the basket and when the basket is full, drop the tissues into the washer without touching them. Machine wash and dry. Put the clean tissues back in the box and reuse endlessly.
The basket may seem harmless overall, but it is necessary to structure the concept and prevent the tissues from ending up in the trash, getting lost or lying around everywhere. It is placed next to the box to obtain a practical, easy to use and hygienic set.
Choose Bateau Bateau handkerchiefs if you like:
Soft, fluffy and comfortable things.
The idea of a "single use" tissue that looks like a disposable
Easy-care fabrics that can be put in the dryer.
When your handkerchief is thick enough not to get your fingers wet.
Sponge you inside the nostril effectively.
Be comforted when you have a cold.
Maintenance Tips
Bateau Bateau tissues are washer and dryer safe.
Tissues may shrink a little and warp over time. They're not supposed to fray. If you ever see any threads, cut them and continue to use them as normal. Top-loading, non-pivot HE washers are more conducive to fraying our tissues. If you have this type of washer, it is recommended to choose white tissues and/or to wash them on a delicate cycle.
🚫 Avoid using bleach as chlorine can weaken natural fibers and damage or yellow the fabric over time.
🚫 Avoid using fabric softener as it can waterproof the fibers and your tissues will become less absorbent over time.
Handkerchief washing
If needed, you can rinse/soak the tissues first or run a quick cycle in hot water to thin out the mucus. (This step is optional, but eases many psychological blocks.)
Add the tissues to a regular load (clothes, washcloths, towels, etc.) preferably in cold water (for the environment).
🩸 WARNING! Blood can stain white fabrics. Rinse in cold water before disposing or wash in hot water.
⚠️ WARNING! Don't overload your washer. Tissues need room to unfold and for soap and water to penetrate the fabric.
Machine dry to keep them fluffy or hang to dry.
Washing the pouches
Wash with like colors in cold water to prevent them from shrinking or deforming.
Dry flat to increase their lifespan.
